SUBJECT: BRIDGE COLLAPSE DUE TO FLOODING

With reference our letters Ref.: 97/CPB/104 dated ______ and Ref.: 97/CPB/105 dated _____ and in accordance with Conditions of Contract, Clause 2..39.3－FORCE MAJEURE, we now submit our request for:

(a) an extension of time, which is

TWELVE (12) days. This 12-day period for extension of Contract time is the period by which the pipeline (677-840km) construction activity by SPREAD NO. 10 was delayed due to lack of pipes resulting from the bridge collapse at El Gadambalia. This activity, with its early finish date being July 20, 1999, is a critical activity which governs the completion time of the whole of Segment A.
